ADHD: Shiva’s Story

Interview with Shiva on his lived experience of ADHD

Shiva opens the dialogue by shedding light on the common misconceptions of ADHD, the challenges of staying focused and the need to compensate by multi-tasking in order to complete tasks on time. Shiva also recounts his early reflections where it was identified in school reports that ADHD may be present as he was fidgety, moves around the room a lot, has outbursts, is chatty and can’t sit still.

Shiva also delved into the creative superpowers he gained from able to come up with unconventional solutions to problems and engage in conversations with anyone. Finally, he shares his insights into the vital role parents play in supporting the learning and development of children with ADHD and encouraging parents to be proactive by organising a diagnostic test if their parents suspect their child has symptoms for ADHD.
